Tennis… in space?! In August 2018, astronauts aboard the International Space Station played the first-ever tennis match in zero gravity. Armed with tiny foam balls and miniature rackets, Commander Drew Feustel, Ricky Arnold, Serena Auñón-Chancellor, and Alexander Gerst sent balls floating in every direction. Organized by the U.S. Open to inspire young tennis fans, the match was broadcast live to Earth, with the action projected onto the Unisphere in New York's Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. It turned microgravity mayhem into a cosmic tennis spectacle.
