Unlike many elite players, Aryna Sabalenka never competed in junior Grand Slam tournaments during her developmental years. Instead, the Belarusian jumped straight into ITF and professional-level events as a teenager. The decision meant she gained experience against tougher, older opponents early in her career. She won her first WTA Tour singles title at the Connecticut Open in New Haven, USA, in 2018, defeating Carla Suárez Navarro 6–1, 6–4 in the final. |
