Iga Swiatek moved into the quarter-finals of the Italian Open after a straight-sets win over Naomi Osaka, 6-2, 6-1.


Naomi Osaka was the first Japanese player to win a Grand Slam singles title (2018 US Open) and the first Asian player to hold the World No. 1 ranking. She largely bypassed the junior tennis circuit, turning professional in 2013 at age 15 without competing in junior Grand Slams. At the 2016 US Open, she recorded a serve of 125 mph, placing her among a select few women to reach such speeds.
