From the brink of elimination, Basavareddy reeled off eight of the next nine points, and completed the comeback with 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (13–11) victory.

Southern California native Nishesh Basavareddy made his Grand Slam debut at the 2025 Australian Open at just 19-years-old. He won two ATP Challenger titles in 2024, and won a Junior Grand Slam in men’s doubles at the 2022 US Open.
