One of the most memorable moments in U.S. Open history came during the 1992 semifinal between American Michael Chang and Sweden’s Stefan Edberg. Edberg triumphed after an exhausting 5 hours and 26 minutes, setting the record for the tournament’s longest match. That milestone stood until 2024, when Britain’s Daniel Evans outlasted Russia’s Karen Khachanov in a 5-hour, 35-minute battle. |
