The Professional Tennis Players Association was launched in the summer of 2020 at the US Open. The PTPA is of the mindset that the ATP represents the interests of the tour as a whole and tournament organisers. It argues that players do not have enough of a voice in this structure and that the information on the distribution of income is not transparent enough. Without making official mention of the PTPA, John Isner publicly indicated that the ATP was “a broken system” — after which ATP had sought to be transparent about its management and the distribution of income. |
